The kids aren’t the only ones excited about summer! It’s easier to feel energized when it’s pleasant outside, and the additional sunlight allows more time to get everything accomplished. Now’s a great time to step back and assess where your business stands to date. What do you want to accomplish in the short run? Is [...]

If I only had a brain

Posted By Robin on August 21st, 2007

When I started writing this blog I told myself that I would post once a week. That worked well didn’t it?! Starting today I am going to write it down on my calendar, that way I will have the time ( and remember)  to sit down and post something, and you will have something new to read!!

I never thought I was the type of person that needed to write down my every move on a calendar, but I’m finding that if I don’t, I’m forgetting something. Of course if I forget anything it is usually pointed out by my 7yr. old (the princess). She’s a good one for saying ” um, mommy? did you forget?” My mom has a t-shirt that is the best I’ve seen in a long time. It has a picture of the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz (an all time favorite movie in our family) with the words “if I only had a brain”. I love that shirt, I just wish I could find one for me. I repeat that sentence pretty much everyday, usually when I walk into a room and have no idea why I am there. I’ve just come to the conclusion that I will never remember anything anymore, so I caved in and actually bought one of those little calendars that fits into your purse. It is so unlike me, but my friend will be soo proud. Her whole life is written down-which I pick on her about- but now I know why. It’s so she doesn’t forget.

In my last post I talked about dying yarn with kool-aid. Well it works!! Smells pretty good too. My whole kitchen smelled like tropical punch. It was actually really easy. My daughter mixed it up and poured it over the yarn ( in the crock-pot) and we let it “cook” for a few hours and ta-da pink yarn! Here I have a picture of the yarn in the crock pot and one of it all dried.

As you can see, it came out a great shade of pink. My daughter couldn’t keep her hands off of it, can you tell. It should take me the next week to get it out of knots! Little miss princess herself has already claimed it and will be knitting a scarf. She’s so cute when she sits down with her needles, I’m so proud.

So what am I doing now?? Well I just started a pair of socks for a Christmas present, yes I said Christmas (sad isn’t it?), and I just had two requests for socks yesterday. So that means I get to buy more yarn!! I just saw some new sock yarns too!! I love making socks, I never get bored with them.  I will have a picture of the sock I am working on next week. I promise!!!

I was just thinking about you today and wondering where you disappeared to lately. Glad to see you back in action Angela. Love the yarn dying. I love the socks you knitted for me last year:)

I’ve been busy trying to get two blankets done, and time just gets away from me!
I’m so glad you like the socks. I’m working on some now. Lacy boot socks, I’ll post a picture soon.
